Background Hypertension is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and all-cause death globally in Africa. The prevalence of hypertension Nigeria 28.9%. In Nigeria, analytical studies to determine factors potential biomarkers are lacking. This study was conducted lifestyle, anthropometric, socio-demographic, biochemical associated with Lagos, Nigeria.Method case–control among 410 participants, aged 18–65 years. A well-structured questionnaire used collect data from cases controls. Anthropometric blood pressure measurements were taken. Blood samples also collected analysis. Logistic regression analysis hypertension. Data obtained analyzed using SPSS version 25.0. P-value less than 0.05 considered statistically significant.Result total, 205 hypertensive normotensive controls recruited. mean ± SD age the participants 39.25 11.49 Overall, 180 (44%) female. indicated that obesity (OR = 3.324, 95% CI 1.693–6.527, P= 0.000), family history 2.861, 1.731–4.729, hypercholesterolemia 2.940, 1.577–5.480, 0.001), insufficient fruits vegetables intake 0.152, 0.085–0.273, frequent dietary salt 0.400, 0.198–0.810, 0.011), smoking status 3.709, 1.061–12.964, 0.040) significantly hypertension.Conclusion Population-based approaches reduce exposure required effective prevention control Nigeria.
